2016 Highlights

2016 Highlights

2016 may not have been everyone’s favourite year, but we’ve had a bit of a corker here at Bookishly HQ. Here are some of the best parts:

1. Growing Team

This year Team Bookishly has grown a lot. We have a great team of hardworking and dedicated people. I am so grateful to have the support that they give to help Bookishly achieve things I never imagined were possible. With our subscriptions growing and growing, and our new range of personalised prints becoming more popular, we have moved on a long way from me hand-inking on book pages in my spare room!

2. NOTHS Award

This year we won a Not On The High Street Make Award! We picked up the Partner of the Year, Collaboration Award alongside our great friend Kate at Perkulatte for our Coffee and Book Club Subscription. To make it even better, our deserving friends at Bespoke Verse shared our award too! It was fantastic evening filled with fantastic people.

3. Batfest

One of the things I love most about my job is the amazing friends I have made. In the summer a big group of creative business owners and their families went camping in Shropshire. There were bell tents, there were campervans, there were pom poms. There were intricately designed balloon hats, there was face painting by professional illustrators and a large organised water fight. It was so much fun to spend time with my wonderful friends and their families. Batfest 2017 is booked!

 4. New Products

We’ve released a number of products this year that we’re very proud of. But nobody could have prepared us for the way our Maps of the Stars have been received these last few months. It took a little while to adjust to the sudden soar in demand but with thanks to the hard work of our fantastic team, we did it. It was worth it in the end!

5. Features

This year we’ve had our products feature here, there, and everywhere. It never gets any less exciting! We’ve had our Tea and Book Subscription on This Morning, Buzzfeed, Heat Magazine and Business Insider. We’ve also had a couple of our Book Page Prints featured by Youtubers like Meg Says and Zoella. We fangirled.

6. You guys

Last, but by no means least, a big thank you to you: our friends and customers. We are lucky to have such a fantastic community of supportive and like minded book lovers like you!

Here’s to an even better 2017! Louise x
